Androscoggin Head Start and Child Care's Home Based and Early Home Based Program is offered to children, birth to age 5, and pregnant women.  It is free to eligible families.

 

This unique program pairs parents with a family educator, who meets with the family each week.  During these visits, parents learn to use the family's home as a creative learning center for their child.  Physical, cognitive, emotional, social development and education are emphasized.

 

The Home Based and Early Home Based Programs enhance the child's life by building on the family's existing strengths.  The program includes information and instruction in education, nutrition, health, social services, and parent involvement opportunities.

 

To apply for this program, please contact the Enrollment Office (795-4040 ext. 325) to schedule an appointment. 

 

Please bring to the appointment:

  • Child's birth certificate (if mother is currently pregnant, child's anticipated date of birth is sufficient to begin application process)

  • Social Security numbers for every member of the household

  • Child's immunization record (may be obtained from child's Doctor's Office, and faxed directly to the enrollment office, 795-4089)

  • Maine Care Card (if applicable)

  • TANF statement (if applicable)
